It's all relative

I still like these. Neat fix for the ugly tank lower seam, chrome trim!

It's all relative.

With no riding possible due to the rain I have been surfing the various motorcycle forums.

A common thread found goes something like "Did you hear about the latest method to issue speeding fines-: Unmarked cars/motorcycles/cameras, Time/distance devices" "Yeah I am going to quit road riding and just do track days"

It is unfortunate that some more riders don't realise,

For many the speed needed to enjoy riding increases the more race focused a motorcycle you ride however the enjoyment is no less on bikes that need not be ridden as fast.

Ride your local mountain road on a race/sports type motorcycle and you will most certainly feel a need to go a certain pace to enjoy the ride. The combination of finely focused machinery and uncompromising rider position in the hands of an experienced rider will not only allow the rider to double the corner advisory speed (or more) but also make riding slower less rewarding and uncomfortable.

On the same road the rider of a non race/sports motorcycle can gain the same enjoyment at a lesser pace. In fact that rider will also enjoy some of the corners that the race/sports type rider cannot due to pace. They also will experience the same elsewhere thus whole routes that were not fun on a supersports bike become enjoyable. And I don't just mean try a cruiser, try everything that's not primarily made for a racetrack.

I expect many people will not understand, if someone had told me when I was riding sports bikes this same thing I would have ignored them. How can a less sports focused bike deliver as much. Well it can as long as your riding for yourself and not for the image you think a certain type of bike, outfit or the way you ride is viewed by others.
